BENBEN
For me, Milène Guermont’s artwork is truly multidisciplinary.

New lighhouses-artworks in France & in the USA to celebrate Lady Liberty
In Egyptian mythology “Benben” represents the primordial mound that emerged from Nun, the primordial ocean, and on which the sun appeared for the first time.
The BENBENS are artworks celebrating The Liberty Enlightening the World in the continuity of the monumental artwork PHARES selected for the "International Year of Light - UNESCO", erected on the Place de la Concorde close to the Luxor Obelisk and which has dialogued with the Eiffel Tower.
The historical multi-site art installation by BENBENS for the 140th anniversary of the Statue of Liberty.
The name of the artworks is a nod to a "Ben" founder of the USA and doubly illustrious: the brilliant scientist and diplomat Benjamin Franklin.
The tactile and lulinous sculptures BENBENS connect, bring light and dialogue together. They all have the same dimension, that of the missing summit of PHARES. Their color and surface finishes are unique for each.
- The first French BENBEN is born on September 19, 2026 for the Heritage Days on the Place du Pont de l'Alma and frames the Flame of the Statue of Liberty until December 19.
- The first American BENBEN is inaugurated in Jersey City alongside Lady Liberty on October 1st, 2026. This artwork will interact with the Statue of Liberty and then multiply in other iconic American sites.
