From Vinci to Hiroshima,
a concrete sheet as a palimpsest on human history
concrete sheet: 6ft.*3ft.*0.6in. with a black Colored Engraving
To me, the Cena by Leonardo Da Vinci and the famous picture shot in Hiroshima illustrate our society’s ambivalence.
Religion and nuclear power symbolize both genius and excess;
they are two constructions of Human Being, which can also destroy him.
On nOsTRA CENA, like the man's shadow imprinted on the wall during Hiroshima blast,
only the outlines of the Cena characters are engraved on a thin concrete sheet using a Colored Engraving process.
Only the finger of the apostle on the left of the Christ, known as sign of the future betrayals, is focused with a black rectangle.
I have conceived this artwork as a palimpsest on human history.
